The Nova Scotia Teachers’ Pension Plan was created by an act of the Legislative Assembly in 1949.
The Nova Scotia Teachers' Union and the Province of Nova Scotia agreed to a joint trusteeship of the pension plan which came into effect April 1, 2006. Under joint trusteeship the Trustee of the Fund is the Teachers’ Pension Plan Trustee Inc.
