Toyin Akindoju

Dr. Toyin Akindoju is the Executive Director of Financial Advisory Services with the Nova Scotia Department of Finance and Treasury Board (FTB), currently supporting the Department of Justice. She has over three decades of strategic leadership and professional financial management experience. After working in the private sector in Nigeria and Canada, Toyin joined the Nova Scotia Public Service in 2007. 

Toyin is experienced in stakeholder collaboration and is recognized for her creativity and fresh perspective in solving problems for her clients. As an African Canadian woman, Toyin promotes diversity and a safe and healthy work environment for all. 

Toyin is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Saint Mary’s University and a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Walden University. 

She is an active member of her community in Halifax. She enjoys spending quality time with her family, walking the dog, and cooking. She is also involved in community work through volunteer membership in several organizations.
